The categories are: genre, line of dialogue, prop, location, and character.
Have an estimated MPAA Rating
Your film may be rated G, PG, PG-13, or R.

We’re a non-profit film festival held in Kalamazoo, MI. Founded in 2019, we’ve been blessed to meet some of the most talented filmmakers, both amateur and professional. The show gets bigger and better year after year bringing in more and more filmmakers.
The show originally aired in the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (KIA), but the show gained so much popularity that we had to move the venue. In 2024, Kazoo 48 filled a theater at the GQT Kalamazoo 10!

Anyone! Kazoo 48 is open to filmmakers of all experience levels, from first-timers to seasoned pros. Teams and solo filmmakers are both welcome.
It's a $25 entry fee to commpete. The price is the same for both amateur and professional entries!
Whatever you've got! A smartphone camera works just as well as a professional rig. We care about your story, not your gear.
Categories are revealed at kickoff, right when your 48-hour clock starts. That's the fun part!
We show the festival at the GQT Kalamazoo 10. The address is 820 Maple Hill Dr. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. We can't wait to see you there!
Nope, we are 100% independent.
We really hope so! We get a TON of entries every year and do our best to show all of the entries. However, due to the volume of entries, we cannot guarantee that yours will be shown.
Anyone who made at least $1,500 on film-related projects within the last year. If you're comfortable enough to charge, you're a West Michigan pro!
